After a careful survey, we have finally selected a location, about five miles from Hambantota -near the newly planned city- for our latest project. The area we have selected for this project is practically under developed and the people are at the brink of poverty. They are engaged in seasonal occupations like pottery, fishing, chena cultivation and some are working as labourers.   Here we constructed an orphanage, preschool and mother and child houses. The complex is in a ten acre land and the project was approved by the Sri Lanka Government. On September 21 this new children`s village was opened by the local authorities and was named METHMAL SEVANA which means Home of Love and Compassion. CRDA will provide education, meals, clothes, medical care and at the proper age the children will be directed to the government schools under our protection and guidance. The project also supplies the surrounding families with electricity, water and is offering labour to them.
